The problem

A missed appointment costs income, time and opportunity.

When a client does not show up, or cancels at the last minute, the provider loses more than the session. The time has already been reserved, preparation may already have taken place, and another client may have been able to use that time.

Following up afterwards can be awkward. Managing deposits manually and enforcing cancellation terms can also create additional work, particularly when every disrupted booking requires another individual conversation.

The impact is easy to underestimate because it rarely appears as one dramatic loss. It builds gradually, one unprotected booking at a time.

How it works

A clear process, applied consistently every time.

  1. Set your terms

Configure your availability, session value, deposit and cancellation policy.

  2. Clients book and commit

Clients choose a time, agree to your terms and pay the required amount through secure checkout.

  3. Forteel applies your policy

When a booking is cancelled, Forteel applies the agreed cancellation outcome automatically.

  4. Released slots reach eligible clients

When a suitable slot is released, Forteel can notify eligible clients on the waitlist.

FAQs

Questions, answered plainly.

How much does Forteel cost?

Forteel costs £19.99 per month after a 14-day free trial. A card is required to begin the trial. Forteel currently takes no commission from booking payments, although Stripe processing fees may apply.

How do client payments work?

Clients see the session price, the amount due and the cancellation terms before completing payment. Payments are processed through Stripe, and the booking is confirmed after the required deposit or full amount has been paid.

What happens if a client cancels?

Forteel applies the provider's cancellation policy using the cancellation deadline shown when the client booked. Depending on the policy and when the cancellation occurs, the payment may be refunded or the provider may become entitled to retain the applicable amount. Both parties receive confirmation of the outcome.

How long does a refund take?

When a refund is due, Forteel initiates it through Stripe. Most refunds appear on the client's original payment method within approximately 5–10 business days, depending on the client's bank or card issuer.

What happens if the provider cancels?

If the provider cancels a paid booking, Forteel initiates a refund of the amount paid by the client. The released slot may also become available for suitable waitlist outreach.

Will every cancelled slot be filled?

No. When a suitable slot is released, Forteel can check for eligible waitlist clients whose preferred day and time match the appointment. Matching clients receive a direct booking link, and the first completed checkout secures the slot. Recovery depends on having eligible clients who choose to book.

Can clients manage or reschedule bookings?

Clients can use the link in their confirmation email to review their booking and access the available cancellation option. Client self-service rescheduling is not currently available.

Can I cancel my Forteel subscription?

Yes. You can cancel your Forteel subscription. Cancelling during the 14-day trial prevents the first monthly subscription charge, provided cancellation is completed before the trial ends.

Does Forteel store card details?

Card details are entered and processed through Stripe's payment flow. Forteel does not store clients' full card details.
